Kansas All-Star Scholars FundThe Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of supporting education and students in Sumner County and Mulvane, KS. 100% of its funding is provided by Kansas Star Casino, who has committed $1.5 million annually to support the objectives of the Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund.
PROGRAM SUMMARY AND ELIGIBILITY:• College Scholarships - All high school seniors, graduating from Sumner County and Mulvane school districts who qualify, will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to be used toward their post-secondary accredited education. This year, 394 graduating seniors in the Class of 2013 were awarded a scholarship! The application process for the Class of 2014 will begin on April 15, 2014 so mark your calendar to check back here. K-12 Students - All students in grades K-12 enrolled in Sumner County and Mulvane school d1stricts w1ll benefit from a $100 educational reward card to be used for school enrollment fees and/or at area merchants to purchase back-to-school supplies, school clothes and shoes. Reward cards are distributed in July/August each year.
â€¢â€¢â€¢ In order to be eligible for this benefit in 2014, parents who received the $100 reward card this summer must submit $100 in back-to-school receipts per student, no later than September 13, 2013. Please remember to legibly write each student's name, school and grade level on the envelope and turn it in to your school on time.
Teachers - Full-time classroom teachers employed in the Mulvane and Sumner County school d1stncts are ehg1ble to receive a $500 teacher reward card to help purchase supplies for their classrooms. The application process for the 2014-15 school year will begin on May 15, 2014 so mark your calendar to check back here.
MORE ABOUT KANSAS All-STAR SCHOlARS FUNDKansas All Star Scholars Fund receives 100% of its funding from the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas. The Fund seeks to support local students and the local economy. We believe this program will attract new families to Sumner County and promote education, while at the same time supporting local merchants and spur economic development, benefiting all of Sumner County.
An autonomous, non-profit Board of Directors oversees the administration of the program. This blue-ribbon panel is comprised of local business leaders, education leaders and recognized leaders from the state's higher education community.
